Court Date!

November 5th is the big day!!! We are so excited to finally have our court date. Hopefully we will pass court and have our son home before Christmas!

Our son and daughter can't wait to meet their new little brother! They ran around screaming for fifteen minutes after we got the call this morning. These past three months of waiting for the court date have seemed like an eternity to them. I know these next two weeks will go by quickly now that we can mark the days off on the calender.

We are praying other families will get court dates soon!

  4. Veronica--saw your note on my blog. Nice to "meet" another military family! My husband looked at the DoD Foreign Clearance Guide (your husband will need to be on a government computer--https://www.fcg.pentagon.mil) a few weeks ago and thinks that they can go, they just have to apply for clearance. I think he said it's supposed to be 30 days before travel, but it seems like you should be able to work something out--with court in a week (so exciting) and then a couple of weeks before travel, you might even be pretty close to the 30 days anyway.

Good luck--I'll be anxious to read that you're able to work it out.

  5. There's also a yahoo group for military adopting families. (Mil-Fam-Adopt if you're not part of it and want to be.) Do you want me to ask on there if anybody has been there, done that?

So glad to hear about the encouring email. Sent up a little prayer that it will all work out. How disappointing for everyone if it doesn't.
